OSRS saw the release of a new quest today and with that comes a new slayer monster called the Basilisk Knight. Their unique drop is the Basilisk Jaw. Can this drop be obtained off task? Or is it one of those drops that can only be obtained on task?

The Basilisk Jaw is not a slayer only drop, however, the drop rate is not as good off-task according to the official update newspost. It is not currently known how much worse the drop rate off task is, however, but you can unlock Basilisk tasks with Duradel and Nieve with slayer points.

An example of another monster where drops are better on-task is Wyrms. Off-task, the Dragon Harpoon is a 1/10,000 drop. On-task, it becomes 1/2,000.

The Basilisk Jaw is not a slayer only drop, however, the drop rate is not as good off-task according to the official update newspost. It is not currently known how much worse the drop rate off task is, however, but you can unlock Basilisk tasks with Duradel and Nieve with slayer points.
